Elections and Personnel Committee Meeting

Call to Order:
The Yuma County Airport Authority, Inc. (YCAA) Elections and Personnel Committee Meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order at 12:00PM on August 18, 2026, in the Yuma International Airport Conference Room, 2191 E. 32nd Street, Suite 218, Yuma, Arizona 85365. The Presiding officer was William Fox, Committee Chairman.

There were no Public Comments.
REGULAR AGENDA
1) August 18, 2026, Election and Personnel Committee discussion, possible recommendations, and update on advertisement and procedures for the vacancies on the YCAA Board of Directors.
Ms. Brown, Airport Director, explained this upcoming 2027 election year, the YCAA Board of Directors will have three seats to fill. Director Bill Fox will reach his term limit after serving a total of nine years and is therefore not eligible for re-election. Secretary Dr. Brian Cullen and Director Jenny Torres, are eligible for re-election and have expressed their desire to be placed on the ballot for consideration. As a result, there will be one vacant seat to fill and two incumbent seats up for re-election. Attached for the Board’s review is the advertisement for the YCAA Board of Directors and the current YCAA Board Application.
Ms. Brown, Airport Director, described the application process for individuals interested in applying to the YCAA Board of Directors, the vetting process, and the informational presentation to be provided by Airport Legal Counsel. She also reviewed the Committee’s process for evaluating applications and making a recommendation to the Board of Directors at the November monthly Board meeting.
Following a discussion regarding the application, advertisement, and timeline, the Committee provided minor recommendations, including correcting a grammatical error and adding an explanation of the Directors’ obligations and term length (three years per term) to the advertisement and application. The Committee concluded that the application, advertising process, and advertisement met the needs of the YCAA, pending completion of the minor edits.
